What’s up?! I'm The-P, and thanks for checking out Bop Battle! This new music competition game might sound familiar, but the concept has been around for decades. Personally, it all started for me back in 1998 in the small town of Edenton. I was on the front porch with a couple of friends, Dennis and Thomas, arguing about music. I was hyping up Killarmy’s new album, while Thomas was singing praises for M.O.P.'s latest. So, I suggested we go song for song and let Dennis decide which was better. We kept it going, and while I don’t remember who won, I do remember how much fun we had!

Fast forward to 2020, and Swizz Beatz and Timbaland brought us a similar concept with their competition show during the pandemic. What a time that was! Everything was SHUTDOWN, but somehow it brought us all together. Like everyone else, I had my own dream match-ups and found myself yelling at my phone, wishing artists would play certain songs. Around that same time, my birthday was coming up, and when my wife asked what I wanted to do, I thought, why not play this game with friends? So I made the rules, and we went for it! After that weekend, my friend Polo (Marcus) called and said, “We need to make this a real game!” and I was already on board.

Now, here we are two years later! I hope you all enjoy this as much as we have over the past two years.
